That's a bit too oversimplified and eliminates a lot of the actually complexity that comes from having two sages as daughters, the general geopolitical situation, potential alternative protections that he could foster for himself and possess complete independence. This just wants to try to shoehorn that the absolute only way for him to have a completely beneficial situation is to be forced into an academic system, which is effectively just a one sided statement with no real exploration of the details and the actual potential negative outcome that comes from it.
