That page 102 was pretty cathartic, not going to lie. Cathartic by proxy, since it's the outcome i not even once got as a child...

Love how all these commenters are bringing realism into a situation where the Dad knows his young daughter has demon powers and can't properly control them.

His only mistake was automatically assuming her powers caused a kid to get hurt, thus wanting to get out of that infirmary as soon as possible so he could privately ask Sami what happened.

After that was him just getting annoyed at Sami giving him the silent treatment and not telling him what happened.

How many commenters either lack empathy or were hurt by their parents or teachers when they were young. It's pretty normal to side with the person who has injuries when taking testimonies, and I've seen my fair share of children with parents that always side with them being assholes to every other kid.
Did he had it coming? Yeah. Does it feel good seeing him suffer? Absolutely not. Specially since Sami left not mainly because she was mad at his dad, but because she received a letter from her mother. So it's kinda a misunderstanding

Fair enough to Sami, she felt like he didn't trust her; so might as well reconcile with her mom.

Everyone here bashing dad. Valid. Counter though, holy shit there are some merciless comments.

He "deserves" to find his child run away, possibly never seen again. Cause he didn't listen to her side of the story? Actions have consequences I agree, but that's brutal. It's clear he loves his daughter. But this mistake definitely doesn't "deserve" emotional trauma, especially for a mistake as a newbie basically single parent.

He does require someone to call him out though, or he'll never improve. Another adult, or even himself. In another version of these events, Sami would still be here. Dad would realize his mis-judgement, promise to do better as a father, then try to make up with his daughter, just like the "out late at anothers home" mini-arc.

The fuck are you talking about? His only mistake? Which one, cutting off his kid before she even had a chance to give her side of the story, ignoring the obviously cowed behavior of the witnesses, cutting the entire conversation short to take a phone call instead of learning to his child, trying to once-sidedly force his child into apologizing to her aggressor, or making a hypocritical speech about how conversation is important despite showing open contempt for conversation hours prior?

Dude made nothing but mistakes, kids demon powers didn't factor into any of them
