Given that her name is Airi Sasaki, that man is most likely her (now deceased) husband, and this chapter appears to be set in the past when she was still a high school girl (16~18; Airi is 23 now). So she married her high school substitute teacher. Assuming they met when she was 18, that puts this flashback at least ~5 years ago at most. ~7 years ago if she was 16.
