Lmao this is the most contrived way to progress the plot, his obliviousness/amnesia was cured by a magic hypnosis trigger.

I'm not complaining mind you, if it takes the supernatural to get this plot moving I'll happily take it.

It's not that he has amnesia, it's that it was so long ago he can't remember, he was a kid, that and the memories are tied/tangled up with his brother dying.
