Well considering other works of the author, not surprised.
Nothing is resolved.
By sheer deduction i speculate that art teacher seduced the girl while she was still in relationship with her boyfriend.
If it matters she was the one who started it, does it matter? At this point not really but at the same time it does matter.
Let's just say whenever someone is cheating on you, especially someone in younger ages it directly affects your sex life and relationship in general. Author tried to pull something adult like but didn't manage to pull deeply enough.
I really dislike works like that, despite reading Rakujitsu no Pathos i hate them.
Author depicts cheating, ntr and etc. as something light. Usually masking or not addressing the fallout, if you are a cuck or affair partner you are stripped from this (guess who the author is).
Author doesn't address a massive feeling of strangulation felt by the victim, in rare cases a guy might get a boner and some of them decide to be cucks even despite feeling massive emotional pain (confused state, same as some people feel while r*ped, body and mind disconnect).
Last note, for any numbskull who thinks you can separate sex and relationship especially those advocating open relationships, i hope hell exists, then we will be meeting there and i sure as hell would be willing to stay there for couple decades to oversee you after serving my time there.
