adding to that she's using her own flaws in an attempt to get them back. (possibly misguidedly) still thinking haruka is the key somehow being the only dude there. imo it's still a 40% chance he is. atm i'm thinking mimori herself might be the reason somehow.

This isn't a spoiler but just my supposition. I feel like Mimori set this all up. Maybe Haruka killed himself and this is a weird purgatory Mimori created while researching the occult in grad school. It's looking like ALL of the girls liked Haruka in high school but never acted on it. That could be why they got chosen...

Yeah, it's surprising how uncommon a trope it is. The only one that comes to mind is Momo from TO Love-Ru.
Even though it's rare there's a name for the archetype though, if you want to find more mangas like this you can search for "goudere".

I agree that plays a part, but I can't imagine that's all there is to it, especially not after reading some of this author's other works. I'm still waiting for the twist, where we find out that she's the mastermind of this whole thing, though I'm not quite sure yet what her motivations are.

Did she cause this whole isolated dimension thing in the first place, and/or does she know how to escape? Does she want to control / kill / mind break MC and/or the other girls for revenge or some other petty reason?

Aaaand, finally, I'm all caught up. I only started reading this series this month, so I've been able to binge a lot. From now on I'll have to wait for the rest just like everyone else though...
