Ah... They were speculating that Bart died because Lily told him about healing magic while healing him (which is why they're keeping it a secret from Tesshi while healing him in this chapter), so I thought if the speculation is true it could mean that it's the healing magic that killed him. :/a

When is it confirmed that it only heals external wounds btw? I seem to have missed it.

It never was stated that only external wounds could he healed.
Momoka mentioned, that she wasn't probably able to heal Bart's internal wound but it was because of her own level of being able to use healing magic.
It wasn't "only magic" that healed, but it was a priest doing the whole 'surgery' while only borrowing some extra power. It was dependent on priest's wisdom and knowledge how much he/she could heal. So it means, Lily's level was beginner. She mentioned she could have asked Jared for help -- perhaps his level of healing skill was higher. And another example -- Patty. She was expert (in 'anaesthesia').

So yes, Midou was feeling bad about having to say it now, and he said it only because it was an emergency. Because he never wanted Momoka to learn that she might have killed Bart with her actions. And it opens a door to possibility if "being killed with healing magic" can count as "being killed by magic" and thus being reincarnated.
