Holy shit, their religion is a joke. They can only use their healing magic on priests which is pretty stupid (they don’t really fight often and accidents are probably not that common, all in all they didn’t use their magic much) but they use it, it’s to torture people ?...

I pity Patty and her reincarnation, that girl was used by the church to the point she doesn't can't do anything
let her rest already !

Also @nanamka thanks for the chapter and merry Christmas ! (and happy new year !!! )

So Teshimano will live, something I'm grateful for and was already expecting.
But I can't stop thinking about the kind of development his death would bring. As much they could until now, they wouldn't be able to keep outsiders out anymore, it would unleash a full-out murder investigation and the search for the mastermind would turn much more agressive (and good luck for them convincing others they aren't a bunch of loonies).
Anyway, not a direction I wish for the story go for, just putting out some thoughts

Now which conclusions this event will bring? Nishina being Lucas isn't the only conclusion available, and isn't one I'm putting my money behind either. The flashbacks from Ashley were pretty convincing about Nishina being him, but I guess I would have to re-read it to see if there is some breach to be something told/remembered by another person (like Bart memories).

Ah, I talk too much. Anyway, thank you very much for this update!

So Nishina is most probably a priest. I'm pretty amazed that Zeze is able to hold up his Zeze-side during the conversation.

@breizh The one was tortured was a priest though and I think he betrayed the Church. And you should treat the Church here not as a religion but a faction on their own similar to a country so it is understandable that they made it so healing magic can only be use on a priest. That magic is the church's secret weapon so they don't want others using it. You are wrong that they don't fight often. They were mobilized along with other countries' army , involved in other countries' forbidden magic deciphering and have their own secret missions so you can see they would get into a lot of dangerous situation.

What.... what if.... now hear me out...... Nishina is Bart

1. He knows healing magic
2. He knows about Glen
3. Him being a priest could be a red herring

Bart died to a sword wound but magic was used on him. Although it wasnt used to finish him off what if the act of having magic used on you near death be enough to reincarnate?

@Miyako19 Yeah I know that it was a priest that presumably angered the church but that doesn’t make torture a good thing. Also, since the clergy has been behaving like pricks for the entire manga that guy could very well be a good guy.
I don’t know where saw that they were mobilised alongside armies. They always mascarade as a neutral party, the only ones that fought did it against orders or to accomplish a very secret mission.

I think the character I pity the most in this story is Glen because even after being reborn his love for Veronica will remain forever one sided.
I would've liked to have a bonus chapter from his point of view when he discovered that Narumi is Veronica...
He never was free in his past life, Bart was his only solace but couldn't exist without him and even after he is reborn he still need to live in his shadow because of his past.
So for me, Glen is the one who is still prisoner of the past the most until he will be sure he can live safely as Glen and not as Bart.

About the mastermind who controls Cotton, I had the hunch really early in the story when he mentioned to Maki that he fears for their life if his "boss" knew" the truth.
Which mean it's someone enough powerful to overcome knights and is within the group because he was able to monitor the group actions.
And the only person portrayed so far in the flashback as a bad guy is priest Luka and priests seems more powerful than knights in general.
