Haha yeah, it's a bit confusing I think and I don't know why mummy Miyao encounters a version of himself as a little boy (that's him, and the other children in the flashback that bump into him earlier as an adult are Akira, Taiga and Chinatsu), but it's nice to see the author did some more stuff we didn't know about
I think that despite the constant bias towards Akira's boring ass Miyao was actually the author's favorite, lol. I bought the physical version of the manga and there's a special illustration of the author himself getting attacked by the Puppetmaster. And you can see he was drawing Miyao before he got pursued
