Yup, if you look at its facial features during the fight you can see human-level intelligence behind them, and it did start crying as soon as the MC went in for the feast.

he literally lost control of himself, he ignored the elf even though he likes women, i highly doubt it was just because it was "THAT GOOD", he didn't even realize he ate it all not even leaving leftovers, i was the genetical response because of how he was made and how he was evolving because of it to the point of dreaming about it
