This manga was published in my country (officially) a few years ago. I bought all of the volumes.
It was quite depressing.

@Raffro Yeah, though my memory is quite blurry now (and too lazy to re-read for now), but I remember the journey wasn't very happy either (obviously). Still better than Kimi no Knife, though.

Despite being underrated, I would say this is one of the better crime mysteries involving supernatural elements. As others have noted in their comments, this is not really 'light' read – but I would recommend it for some rainy day. The detective, despite looking serious and stoic, is affected by the cases and his perspective is constantly challenged through interactions with the spirits. I find character growth in detective fiction/police procedurals hard to come by so it was nice to see him explore and grapple with his concept of morality.

I’ve finished the TV series on Netflix, and every episode became heavier and heavier. I really felt his frustration and anger. I hope the series did the manga justice. Welp, pray I dive in this manga and come out alive to watch its movie.

Update: I’ve watched the movie, and it’s srsly underrated. It’s so good.

Got here from the netflix series, and I gotta say I’m a touch surprised the characters are different. Looking forward to reading this one.
