Well, someone's gotta be that guy, so

what's the difference between burgers and sandwich? I mean, it's basically bread-meat-bread combo.

Borgars are a subset of sandwiches. So while a Reuben and a BLT and a club are all sandwiches, none of those are borgars.
Ironically this is a conflicting point for English learners here, since we only call sandwich to the triangular ones (and with that kind of bread). So we have two square slices that cut in two become a sandwich, meat inside a bun becomes a borgaur (though you can technically call it sandwich if there're only veggies/tuna inside) and with a bread bar you have a "bocata" or "entrepà". Note that you can still cut a borgaur in two and place it inside those kind of bread, it returns a unique test/texture. English people call this sandwich and those who have visited Spain like saying "bocata".

...so you wouldn't refer to a submarine sandwich as a sandwich, then? :thonk:

So that's how they're called... even though you can describe a lot of things being sandwiched (and not necessarely food), I can only imagine a "sandwich" as something triangular. That's why borgaurs are superior, you simply know what you're getting. And "submarine sandwich" is not consistent enough to match a "bocata".

Okay - so that triangle cut is along the lines of what would be called a 'finger sandwich' or 'tea sandwich' by most English speakers. Looks like the 'bocata' would more or less cover most long-roll (hoagie) sandwiches, based on the Wikipedia entry. However, the 'usually served cold' descriptor in that does seem like it would tend to exclude things like meatball sandwiches and Cubans, as well as a number of hot deli meat subs. [Edit - misread the line as 'usually served cold with beer,...' rather than 'usually served with cold beer,...' - my bad.]

Anyway, here's a double with fries and (presumably) a chocolate shake from B-Bops. It eats better than it looks.
