Isekai just means another or different world, NOT getting transported or reincarnated into.
This is the problem with the general public generalizing the word Isekai as reincarnated or transported into a different medieval fantasy world.

That was the prequel to this, yes - the base of this story was also made already but in a more limited format of mostly single pages.
Also we don't talk about The Incident™......

Also, with regards to the use of "Isekai"; There is a distinction between the baseline noun, and the literary genre (i.e. Japanese Portal Fantasy). The two are different, but the word itself is the same which is definitely going to cause confusion for those unfamiliar with the language. The story itself takes place in another world, but is not of the Isekai genre. Simple as that.

Except, for the fact, the artist this time isn't Giba-chan. Which, feels a bit of a disappointment as a lot of the allure of the original was very much the art by Giba-chan...

You say that, but the art style so far is IMO rather similar to how Giba-chan drew the pre-serialized version. Maybe Hosokawa-sensei is making a point of trying to emulate the original style to a considerable extent.

Complain about it in private if you want, but please don't bother the rest of us with it or start an argument about it; it's a commonly accepted compromise in the absence of more natural alternatives in English, especially compared to the many other artificially devised options.

I really like the art in this and its pretty interesting to me that the apotechary dude has a dark past, I dont remember that being the case in the original work.

He did, actually. It was revealed pretty late, IIRC. And this glimpse we have been given fits well with that, so I would expect it to be simply expanded upon this time around.

Certainly is possible to become cruel without being a rapist. But you seriously think slavers and kidnappers that would reduce her like that would draw the line at putting their penises inside her without her permission?

I should have expanded my reply/comment. Since the discussion was about original meaning vs modern meaning with my position being that words mean what they mean now (legal documents excluded). (Simplified explanation follows without trying to get into the finer details...) Originally loli came from Lolita, a book (that I have not read) about a man who abuses a 12 year-old girl. When the Japanese picked it up it meant underaged girls or women who looked like them (such as in My Senpai is Annoying). In that original context oppai-loli would have been an oxymoron. Loli (at least as how used in these manga-discussion forums) now seems to mean any short cute girl with young-looking facial features regardless of how mature they look overall.

From the Wikipedia Lolicon entry:


A manga-style depiction of young girls wearing lingerie. Lolicon artwork often blends childlike characteristics with erotic undertones.

Now loli could include these (images selected from a search for "loli"). Is Taiga a loli? That's not the first think I think of because she may be flat but she's not childlike. Shinobu? Yes, definitely.

Oh wow, the description of her condition was way more vivid (in a dark way) than I expected going into this having read the synopsis only. (In fact it read like a pretty average MC picks up girl "romance" Isekai to me / I guess I underestimated the tattered part) That was kinda disturbing. But it also seems refreshingly different and going by the other comments well worth reading. Looking forward to more uploads!
