A cliche-busting duo, the "Axe-Swinging Elf and Bow-Drawing Dwarf" appear on the scene!
Enjoy!

You can read the series (mostly) translated right here on Mangadex:
https://mangadex.org/title/e0456e4f...a211b3/axe-swinging-elf-and-bow-drawing-dwarf

It holds many interesting bits of lore too of course, which I guess are also now canon in this story?
Here's an interesting tidbit from a yet-untranslated chapter:

In this world, the term "Human" actually encompasses ALL sentient humanoids, while the term to refer to humans specifically is an original name "Baijin" meaning "Double Folk". Perhaps because they "double" in height compared to smaller races like Dwarves and Half-Fitch? Neat!

I wonder if Rudy will get weirdly inspired by this encounter. Maybe she will try and make a crossbow of some sorts next.
Axe throwing crossbow?

Reminds me of Dunmeshi's "tall men" for the traditional humans. Does also bring to mind the earlier "skinmen" with the beastmen, so therefore there must be skinless folk somewhere out there.

I thought I was reading a chapter uploaded to the wrong series, turns out it's just a crossover chapter, and a pretty good one at that. Thanks for the chapter! Curious to see how this encounter affects her and will help her grow from a blacksmith making things that go for ''cool'' first, practical use second, into one making stuff that is functional and a successful product

didnt know its the same author, so its a shared universe then

p.s. now that i dig more about the author more, he used to make a lot of guro snuff doujins :notlikethis:
Wait what?

checks Exhentai

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WHY!!!!???:notlikethis:

If I had seen those as my first impression of this artist, I would have assumed they where a psychopath using their art to hold back murderous urges.

This is way more of a shift in tone than even Nanashi did with his chimpanzees.
