The clerks character development makes no sense.

In the beginning she was giving amazing customer service and treated her customers exceptionally well. Now that she’s demoted her entire personality shifts to a lazy, rude clerk who is gifted at her job and doesn’t care at all about customer service. She even emphasized to treat VIP costumers like him with exceptional service. Even if she thought he was gullible in the beginning, she still treated him well and even went the extra mile.

To summarize, there is an inconsistency in her behavior. In addition there was no foreshadowing or given reason to her shift in character it just happened spontaneously. This is a either a slip up in story telling or the author trying to force a straight man comedy.

I like the world building but the character development and lack of foreshadowing needs some improvement. A lot of things just happen with no build up, even forcing clichés. I’ve explained a few of these before in other comments.

To those who ask me, “why don’t you write a book instead if you know all this.” My answer is I’ve already had my share of writing. It’s not easy and you can learn a lot from your mistakes and recognizing others.

If you at least make an outline it will save you so much trouble. Now you know what personality types, environment, physics, etc. you need to research and the direction of the story. Play D&D, it could help if you have problems staying in character. Someone I knew did that.
