he seemed more like a sandbag wasting her time and taking only ONE LESSON to heart lol
and given her character, she would be happy to learn something from the spar herself, not when HE learns something since she wouldn't give a shit since it doesn't help her goal of beating the guy that trashed her grandfather and she obviously doesn't believe akita can do it.
either way, they could've made akita to offer to test her special moves on him or something and he would've surprised her and she actually got something out of it and THEN warmed up to him.
If he suddenly started beating her up in sparring that would be even more unrealistic, him just trying harder and her deciding to give him advice (rather than what they were doing previously where she wasn't really invested) has clearly made a difference. That's why at the end she says he was trying his best.

There's no way Akita hasn't already tried to use stuff like the calf kick, lightning etc on her they're simply not going to make a huge difference.

how does "surprising her" lead to him beating her up roflmao
you're trying to shift the narrative so hard and fail so badly it's not even funny, just sad.

he could've done something as simple as evading one of her finishers or whatever the fuck just so that she realizes she had a weakpoint somewhere and can work on addressing that. literally ANYTHING that makes him useful to her in this situation and changes her mind that sparring might not be so bad.

The point of sparring is not to win the sparring match the point is to learn, so Akita catching her off guard wouldn't actually really prove anything since it could only happen once. Also Akita surprising her would raise the question of why he didn't do it before; considering that he's been there a while and hasn't even made her sweat (literally) it just doesn't seem likely.

Akita has generally improved too quickly for my liking so I don't mind his growth this chapter being more of a moral victory/mindset change than anything else. And I think it's reasonable for her opinion of him to improve when he stands up for himself instead of being meek and mild like he was at the start of the chapter when he walked in on her in the bathroom and started panicking.

Somehow the manga disappeared from my list and can’t find it on the advanced search?
For some reason the extra chapters got merged back into the main entry and the content rating rose as a result, I tried to ask mods about this and got zero response.

Well, I hope they do something since it’s an entertaining manga and I do want to keep reading it here with such a nice translation.
