Unless someone is suicidally reckless, there's little chance that a lvl 1 noob is gonna survive a fight against a heavyweight MMA guy, let alone win.

Everyone is getting their panties in a twist over "realism". What did you really expect? She'll either beat him by "a real fight isn't by the rules" trick or it'll go full anime "she's just more than regular human" route.

Glad MC is smart enough to know that being a one trick is not enough to win every fight.

Tbh not smart enough, as he first need to train his body and stamina. Learning a lot of tricks won't help him if he doesn't have the strength to put on them.

I think its due to the fact the manga takes itself seriously with stuff like the calf kick and stuff, so something as irrational as main girl taking a full on #1 trained mma fighter is a jarring tonal whiplash for them.

EDIT: I've been thinking about this chapter, and there's actually one realistic way she could win: land a clean hit on his balls. If that's what happens, I'll let it slide.

That's actually terrible for realism. It's not actually a disabling blow. In true anything-goes fighting you don't go for something like that as it is quite possible to fight through the pain. An elbow strike to the temple, a palm strike to crush the nose, an eye gouge, or something like that would be more realistic. Throw something truly disabling and not allowed in MMA. Still not super realistic, as even if the MMA fighter is not expecting it, reach would make them harder and the trained fighter is likely move to block/avoid even illegal hits. They are the kinds of things that let a smaller/weaker fighter beat a stronger one though.

Source: I've done about a decade of martial arts, of various styles, and done limited work with survival fighting, weapon defense, etc. Not professional or anything, but at least proficient.

You watch this video and tell me nutshots aren't a disabling strike:

Video URL because mangadex embedded media sometimes borks things up

These are professional MMA fighters - AND they're using protector cups.

Sure, it's not a fatal strike, but that moment of vulnerability would allow you to follow up with something stronger that would likely end the fight (and maybe their life) for good.

All the "realistic" strikes you suggested are on the head, literally the most well-guarded body part by anyone who has an inch of understanding of self-preservation, let alone trained fighters. At that point, pulling a gun like I mentioned out is more realistic.

The nutshot is viable because not only it's a disabling strike, it's usually unexpected. Good luck trying to land an elbow strike to the temple of the national heavyweight MMA champion.

Yeah, they could’ve at least tried to keep it somewhat realistic. Weight classes exist for a reason, and I can say with confidence that a 60 kg girl isn’t beating a 93 kg MMA fighter—no matter how technically skilled she is.

Thanks for the chapter!
Keep it realistic for what? Wheres the fun in that?

And then "oh of course she can't beat him because he's like three times her weight and also he's a pro and---" next page is this guy asking for mercy and she beating him down or smth.
