My disappointment with this is immeasurable.

For those unfamiliar, this started with a one-shot called Koroshi to Uso no Marriage, released on April 27, 2024. It was a police-crime romance thriller packed with action and violence. If you haven't read it, go check it out—it's amazing. Initially, if I remember correctly, the artist announced that it would be serialized around November 2024, but it ended up being "delayed."

However, as you can see, the premise and story of the one-shot were completely abandoned. Instead, the serialized version was rewritten into a generic high school setting, retaining only the MC's name and design, the FMC’s design, and the action/violence. What a letdown. This is basically Kakegurui, but with gambling replaced by action, violence, and sex.

I genuinely cannot comprehend why they would throw away such an interesting premise for something so uninspired. The one-shot had so much potential… Seeing it reduced to a cliché-ridden high school setting is a disheartening change. What a colossal waste of potential.

Thanks for the chapter!
Oh wow, you weren’t kidding

ok, for the one that feel dissapointed with the lady become fighter, you must have known Girls of the Wilds, the same setting, high school fight, and about sex idk but from what I read, the MC was a loser, same as this mc but I don't know much about the manhwa, but it's fun. From what I think, the manga was like Girls of the Wilds, it's just japanese version of the manhwa, of course, with the girl that near mc having a big booba than the girl of Wilds. why everything need to be sexualized? Please make a normal female character, a girl of the wilds can make a woman become badass without needing to be sexualized like that wth

I wasn't gonna comment cause I don't expect smart discussions under manga chapters anymore, but this comment was simply too retarded for me not to take the bait. If it was on purpose, bravo, I can only compliment you.
Do you realize what you just said?
"Hey you know how smart guys surpassed violence? With superior violence."
Of course the idea the ability to fight hand-to-hand is what's most important is a silly oversemplification for the sake of telling a story, but if you try to deny the premise of violence's primacy itself by showing guns and nukes, you fundamentally don't understand what's being discussed.

I apologize for not conveying it in more precise grammar ig? My point was more that n the face of that rule, smart guys developed tools that could accomplish incredible violence. In general, a “smart guy” like the one in this manga is not seen as one with immense physical strength, and as such cannot play in a world ruled by violence. However, the way to “get past that” is to design tools, weapons, and machines which do not necessitate physical strength for violence. Also, if you haven’t noticed, the world around is not filled with people slugging it out in the streets, at least in developed countries. Better tech and more advanced weaponry has allowed us to “get past” the rule of violence in some ways. Honestly, the fact you couldn’t read into it just a little bit tells more about yourself than anything else man.

No, you're still missing the point. To say we got past the rule of violence is to ignore reality. Setsuna's view on violence is stupidly simple, but the fundamental premise is correct, unlike the modern view. Violence is the first law. Whether weapons, or law, morality, justice, collaboration - those are just sophisticated ways to better apply violence in one's own favour. Saying we got past that by designing tools is like saying we got past it by designing swords. We got largely past the need for physical strength, yes, but not past the primacy of violence. We've just found better ways to enact it.
You partly recognize it yourself, since you're saying "tools that accomplish incredible violence", but then turn around and try to deny it. We can't. Violence is what the world is built on. There is nothing to read into because your definitions are all over the place.
