Honestly at this point I'd prefer for the series to just be the adventures of Miu and Karate Dad, they're significantly more entertaining than Akita (pretty bland tbh) and Setsuna (lol).
I think if this series has a real fundamental flaw though it's that it doesn't have anything interesting to say about violence. The MMA Vs Setsuna fight (that seems to be the core of all controversies) doesn't actually have a point.
Setsuna fights him by cheating, essentially. Throughout the fight she constantly tries to use moves prohibited in MMA and gets shut down then manages to finally get an advantage by messing with the clock. But what's violent about cheating? Is Setsuna telling him to win at all costs? If he's using a conservative or defensive style that's probably to maximise his chances of winning above using a more aggressive style.
It's not that Setsuna is stronger either - we see in the final chapter of the fight that has he chosen to slam her he could have escaped from her choke but refused because he was afraid of accidentally killing her. So what exactly was the point?
I think the only arc where the moral felt really clear is the best one for that reason, and that's the Karate Dad arc where the point is that he had let the pain of losing create a fear of losing that had permeated throughout his life. That's a cogent argument that's skillfully articulated. If the manga only waxed philosophical when it actually had a point it would probably hit harder.

Premise: Akita is a smug nerd who dreams of being rich and successful and is proud of his intelligence and grades, but gets pushed around by a bully in his class. That bully, a karate champ, gets his shit pushed in by a new arrival to the school, Setsuna, a genuinely insane high school girl who is obsessed with violence. She is also an expert fighter.
After beating the bully she then defeats a bodybuilder gangster. Then she challenges an MMA contender, who she also defeats; unlike Setsuna who will do anything to win he held back for fear of killing her and she encourages him to embrace total violence.
After this she takes Akita under her wing and begins training him to fight. Akita enters an underground fighting ring and manages to beat a punk. Then the two of them are accosted by Mitsuhara, a mysterious television executive. After the two of them rebuff him, he has Akita's house burned to the ground (his family survive unscathed).
Mitsuhara then enrolls Akita in his new show, No Rules, a street fighting reality show where 100 people fight to be ranked #1 by the end of the show. Everything since then has Akita been fighting people for that show, eventually with the help of Miu, a pro-wrestler who allies with him.

Setsuna beats bully for existing, much like Yujiro Hanma randomly kills people, and mc asks girl to teach him. Her method of teaching is beating his breaks in.
For the first few chapters its somewhat realistic and somewhat inspiring in that MC wins against superior fighters by using moves outside their ruleset, outsmarting them or cheesing it.
Later chapters it outright turns into fantasy. Setsuna muscles out of a 250lb MMA CHAMP's lock and tanks a full power counter to the chin, MC fights multiple people an he's fine without stamina conditioning, Setsuna's brother is so incredibly talented he needs one look at mediocre technique to gain full mastery of it...
Also there's a fighting tourney in the background the mc didn't want to be a part of but the organizer is gay for him and torched mc's whole house so the mc wants to beat his lights in and get the prize money.
Also everyone fights with their bare hands, the only person this makes sense on is the karate guy cause makiwara, somebody should be breaking knuckles.
Also this series takes place in an alternate universe where youtube doesn't exist nor does Shoot promotion or smartphones. That's why he doesn't search youtube for any tutorials or classes and instead relies on a crackhead teenage girl who can teach as well as i, a whole brick-shaped man who has never touched makeup in his life, can crossdress.

Out makes sense in the context of that universe and is fun enough to read, this one pretends to be ours.
OUT also has more nuance, the villains have dynamic motivations, variation, etc.

I'm not going to deny that OUT has had a lot more thought put into it than BB, and my comments on BB attest to the fact that I don't think it's well constructed.
But 1. OUT has completely fake nuance. OUT will have a character cripple and murder everyone he sees, die, and then have another character go "NOOOO HE GAVE ME A CIGARETTE THAT ONE TIME". OUT has got to have the most despicable cast I've ever seen, all of them have zero self-awareness and then have the gall to get really mad when their horrible friends who do horrible things die in the course of that.
2. OUT is also pretending to be realistic. It was literally based on a guy's memoirs at first, and the first few chapters definitely feel really realistic and the author is actually capable of really frighteningly realistic violence (like the guy nearly going blind in Bouncer, which I think is maybe the best consequences of violence has ever been written in manga that I can think of). So it'll have that then have completely ridiculous stuff like the
guy getting his head kicked clean off by a guy doing a jump kick WITH A BROKEN LEG, or the bulletproof beanie, and actually literally everything to do with Taguchi.

Only really referring to the intro to OUT
read that guy's manga for long enough and he turns into Baki-dou before long. But his intros are absolute masterpieces that you can't really get anywhere else.
It's still a lot better made, and more nuanced than this. You have selfish people and monsters but they're selfish in a way that makes sense. I find that interesting, well, at least before it turns into JoJo's bizarre adventure
