The Idol to the right of the altar looks like a mermaid or the god Dagon... Interesting.

I think it's more likely to be a mermaid, since a creature like that exists in Japanese folklore. Plus it's have some interesting implications, the flesh of mermaids being rumored to grant immortality in Japanese stories, and our resident ghost is very mermaid-coded.
