I wonder what these people would do if someone just kept saying "no" to all this. Like, obviously we've seen that they get violent, but how far would they actually go? 'Cause our MC's life as an A, assuming that he didn't just get unreasonably lucky, seems to suggest that a good number of them are only following along with this system because they don't want to end up on the wrong side of it. For the ones that don't genuinely believe in the message, what would they do in such a situation? Would they kill the person? How would that affect them? Would they try to justify it? Say they were "just following orders?"

I sort of feel like that would be a more interesting story, following someone who does increasingly horrible things that they don't believe in while continuing to try and think of themselves as a "good person" all the while. But, you know, this one's cool too.
