And being broken doesn't excuse punishing those around you. Maybe it explains your actions but it is still wrong and frankly makes you a bad person. Plenty of people have horrible childhoods and don't torment those around them. I'd wager a lot of kids aren't loved by their parents. The real world sucks.

My grandfather had an awful abuse filled childhood so he moved out at 12 and never spoke of his life before then. He never physically or emotionally abused my grandmother or mother because he wasn't a pos and realized the impact of abuse.

Plenty of abused people dont pass that trauma on, and its not because theyre psychopaths or sociopaths...you should actually read up on what those words mean. It's because they're better than that.

The way he treats her is wrong and unjustafiable regardless of how loyal and caring she is. He's a bad brother.

Either way, you're digging up a 4 year old post from me so I'm not interested in having a debate on this. Hope you liked the manga.
let me rephrase Domestic Violence is never justified, but punishing the perpetrator is also wrong
.
the reader only sees the bad brother because the series starts from there, but in the sister's eyes, that is not the real brother.
what you see is a layer of an onion.
her sister knows his brother better
Plenty of abused people dont pass that trauma on
that only applies to you, you are just extravagant about "plenty", also you have not firsthand experienced that
.
the fact is no one can handle that word coming from their parents

yes, even the perpetrator admits that right?
what do you want? punish? Karma? believe me, that's not what Kanami wants.
your feelings only come from 3rd party like Diago and Makoto who do not really care about Kanami's feelings but want to satisfy your justice.
.
after rereading it, I realized that her brother didn't go as far as physical violence, it was still mild compared to real-life DV, and because it is shoujo manga it settle calm faster with no court or aftermath like RL.

Look dude, I think you're projecting a bit from your personal life. Remember, you replied with essays to a 4 year post that just said:

"I'm still so mad at the brother. What he did can't be excused. But forgiving....or atleast moving past that is probably best for the girl. They're definitely chosing a much harder option than just hating him. Not sure I could be so rational."

I said what he did couldn't be excused but it's good his sister is working past it. Nothing about that is unreasonable or even disagrees with your last reply rant.

You're the one trauma dumping here on a 4 year old post. Chill out. I won't be replying or entertaining this argument anymore. Have a nice day.
