As a side-note, does anyone know if people in Japan still DO care a lot about a woman being relatively skinny? I thought a lot of the world was on the thicc/“slim-thick” train now

@Wreavant I would think they would still be very much more on the thin side. Of course there's a difference between what guys like and what girls feel comfortable with

there's also a difference between thicc and muscular, at least to some people. I've seen guys express disgust if a girl has visible, cut muscles or more muscles than them in their legs, which Makoto probably has (though it wasn't drawn that way in the panel)
