Ugh, this is lazy writing. You skip forward 2 years to avoid showing actual development then you have people shill discuss the growth of the guy who was introduced four chapters ago as if we've watched Eita's growth in real time. The talk about Bungo does no good if he's still behind the actual ace. Also Tamaki's introduction and more exposition just to stir some conflict.

Sooooo Bungo hasn't improved his pitching much. Probably just stamina. Betcha he only throws fastballs still. To be fair, he was a liability in pretty much anything apart from pitching. Even then he had flaws to his pitching. Guess its a bit more realistic? The skills (which was the entirety of baseball) he was lacking don't appear overnight.
