At this point, I’m pretty sure Akutagawa will use the chance to put their plans into action. Since he said he keeps his word to not kill for 6 months, maybe the next chapters we’ll see the duo in their full fighting strength + teamwork to at least push the enemy into a corner and flee. I cant wait for the next chapter *^*

Thanks for ur hard work everyone ^^

Tbh the only thing stopping Akutagawa from just killing him is the idea that Dazai would be upset. Otherwise, the deal just seems really appealing, knowing that Aku already wants Atsushi dead anyway, though in the first place Aku's hate towards Atsushi is rooted in the fact that Aku believed that Dazai choose Atsushi as a new pupil because Atsushi is "better".

It's possible that Aku's feelings have changed since Dazai came clean about his plans for "new double black" in the recent chapters. In that regard, Dazai really is a genius if he anticipated this proposal that Aku kills Atsushi, and decided to tell Akutagawa about it just to prevent that very incident from happening.

Though, personally I think it would be honestly be kind of refreshing if Akutagawa "betrayed" Dazai for the first time-- IMO Dazai would kinda deserve it. I don't necessarily hate Dazai, but it's evident that he takes major advantage of Aku's respect/admiration towards him, so it would be interesting if Aku decided to grow out of that for once.

I honestly don't think Akutagawa will kill Atsushi, even if not for Dazai, they are after all now rivals and well ....

@MinLu that is actually a pretty interesting theory 'akutagawa betraying dazai' is something i thought i would never hear in my life but now that i've heard of it it's actually pretty interesting

No lie a small sliver of me wants Akutagawa to just say "fuck it" and just kill Atsushi and flip off Dazai in the process.

In terms of character growth, there is no character growth(in Atsushi's case at least). Akutagawa on the other hand, at least has a bit more so, but still. As others have commented, it would be interesting to see him subvert Dazai's expectations.
