@Misaki2578 That's because he only appeared in the novel called "Dazai Osamu and The Dark Era". It is adapted into four episodes in the second season. Lastly, yes he is canon. Odasaku only appears in the manga when Dazai recalls him.

The reason's due to the upcoming light novel STORM BRINGER that will be released soon. Asagiri wrote the novel for a year, if not 13 months to finish. While he was writing, he also reading/re-reading the works of certain authors he based on his characters relate to the novel's story arc to create better ones.
