@WhisCalifa69 Good to know, the
yuri thing is basically what I assumed because she was characterized as always having things her way, and so when she doesn't get what she wants, she desperately pursues it obsessively. In her eyes, it's tragic love because everyone is trying to tear the two of them apart with class differences, being apart of two different social cliques and his ignorance of the world, and so she wants her happy ending. Hence why it makes sense for her to view him as more of a trophy than a person in and of himself.
@LordTrollbias Kinda applies to your post too but don't read it if you don't want spoilers.

@Khansolo
If you don't want to be spoiled, just avoid this post
it's tied to ch. 13, from where the plot starts moving, so it's double spoiler. Actually...
-Haru gets anxious bc Souta ain't coming under Kasuga bridge after 2 weeks and kind of hints she's actually falling for him. She decides to visit him at his school on Hidaka.
-She ends stalking him all the way to his house and witnesses how extremely poor he is after eavesdropping about his Gacha canisters' mounting side job. On her way she gets relieved he is doing well. While subtle, it's still relevant bc it shows Haru actually cares for him, setting another difference with Yuri.
-She gets more anxious after asking her mum about side jobs (内職) and getting a dreadful answer. "Nobody takes those jobs unless for something extremely important", Haru realizes Souta's little change holds a significant heavier value for him.
-Ch. 14 starts with her still reflecting over that. Haru ends up fearing he won't come under the bridge anymore after remembering what happened on this chapter, she also remembers the moment when he saved her from his classmates and thinks she had never asked his name (as of the most recent chapter, she calls him "24 yen").
Parallel to Haru's epiphanistic panels...
-At the end of ch. 12, Souta naively apologizes to Yuri, she forgives him.
-Bc of her being at Souta's side, bullies ain't picking on him bc they don't want to have her against them. Souta doesn't realize Haru stalked him all the way to his shack.
-As of Ch. 14, Yuri asks him out to go shopping and then going picnic at Osawa park on sunday. Souta gets nervous bc it's his first time he goes out with a girl, he compares Haru's company with Yuri's.
-Date happens, Souta confesses he had to lie to his mom, even though Yuri seems to enjoy that, he can't stop thinking about Haru, even though he swore not seeing her anymore 2 chapters before.
-At picnic, Yuri attempts to steal a kiss from him (as of stealing his lips' virginity) and Souta pushes her away after remembering Haru's indirect kiss from ch. 9, realizing she isn't a bad person after all. He lies to yuri saying he must go back to home, however, chapter ends hinting at him going back to Kasuga Bridge. Btw, it seems Yuri didn't buy his lie.

Kid for 10000 yen you get a good rope and a tree is for free... TBH. The surrounding is apathetic towards him. All of 'em. And even the one person who he just met and belived to give him a ray of light will do nothing out of good will. Even if he has temporally the blessing of money he knows deep down that his situation doesn't change in like forever. He questions his self worth and is pretty much in the condition to harm himself.
Dunno, but to turn the chain of events the mangaka has to pull a deux ex machina @ this point. What makes me upset, if it would happen that way and not a slippery slope into the deepest abyss of society, it gives the authenticity of the story a blow.

@Airwave2K2 I think she was teasing him but he didnt realise as he already has low self esteem. She's not really in the wrong and can become his "ray of light"

It's not really a Deus Ex Machina as much as a plot contrivance, but even then it's not too big of one because it wouldn't have changed the course of events much if he had it or didn't, because the outcome would be the same regardless. @Airwave2k2

@Airwave2k2 btw she was teasing him (she rolled her eyes. That's a cliched way to say someb9dy's just joking). The issue is Souta's own self esteem issues and his emotional underdevelopment caused by his fucked up family. And according to the raws...
After kind of stalking him to his house and witnessing how piss-poor he is, Haru realizes she fucked up badly when teased Souta with the "no money, no honey" bs, although she has a hard time realizing the reason why Souta stopped going under Kasuga bridge and called him a coward, the realization hit her hard. Btw, Yuri got into action and almost had him for herself.
@Tamerlane not even a plot contrivance, however, it sets up another point of conflict, according to the raws (spoiler alert, so it's spoiler marked)
Even though Haru realized she was wrong by teasing him after witnessing the shit he has to endure, and Souta realized Haru ain't bad, he still thinks she only cares about money. Haru must explain things... and Souta must grow a pair of balls.

For your information, here's my theory about the excuse of each "heroine" bad attitude. Note : Contains spoiler of next chapter

Haru
As you may know, her mom will remarry the rich man. But, she already knows that her to be new father is a wolf in sheep's fur. He thinks that all women love money. So she rebels and distrust man who only giving money only for his pleasure.
But, when she meets MC, she only plays along with his naivety but deep inside she has a feeling to him because she thought that he is pure and honest boy.
Actually, she is not a used-good, she just want to live in virtuous life.

Yuri
She is actually a singing bird trapped inside a cage. She is considered as expensive bird which has perfect sing.
She only live by other's expectation and maintain her "Perfect Child" persona. But deep inside, it cause her true personality becomes very twisted, dominating, and rotten. That's why she spurt the rumor that Haru is slut, hating that MC lying to his mother but getting smile when he said that it is for Yuri

This girl is the worst route which can make MC's life worse if he break-up with her

Fumi
She is actually good person, but betrayed by a man who impregnate her. I'm sure she was a gravure idol or ex-JAV actress by seeing how there are porn magz despite they are poor.
Since she has nobody to lean on after getting pregnant, she develops a son complex and wants to lived with the only hope she had. But, if MC leaves her, she has yandere tendencies that cause her doing anything to take him back.

@Lolipop_Candy about each one's bad qualities

Haru
She just plays along with MC's naivete, but the turning point in which she starts to develop feelings for him was the moment in which he saved her from his school bullies and only asked her name as a reward. She was expecting him to ask her some indecent petitions such as groping her breasts, a blowjob or a french kiss, but Souta's answer made her realize how pure he is. Btw, she still didn't know how piss-poor he is, until chapter 13-14. Her feelings are getting more evident after starting to show anxiety due to him now wanting to do with her anymore and not going to the bridge anymore.
-Shigeo*'s roastings (you were saved thanks to my money) hints at Haru and her mom going through hardships before before her mom marrying Shigeo. I won't be surprised if it's revealed Haru was able to realize the importance of those 24 for Souta because she was also extremely poor, but unlike Souta, she was aware of the shit she had to endure and had the ironic luck of having her mom marry a wealthy, but a bastard of a "man".

*her stepdad

Yuri
Tbh, she's a bitch on sheep clothes because she wants to, not because of muh circumstances. The little flashbacks at the beginning of chapter 5showed she had the healthiest family core of the protagonists' trio and even her family seemingly raised her very well. Itbwas shown she was afraid of boys, and started to lust over Souta because he was the first boy to bengenuinely nice to her. So she thinks Souta is her propwrty only because it's the only boy who isn't like other boys. She ended falling for him, but fails into knowing him better. Also, due to her obsession with Souta, she wants to monopolize his relationships, very much like Fumi does, but for different reasons

Fumi
imma startin' ta buy the former gravure/JAV actress past, now that you've mentioned it. Still makes me ramble about how she turned into a mysandristic psycho when Souta turned 14. What did happen there?? A jerkass boyfriend accidentally making her pregnant due to a broken mexican condom (hoping you get the reference) and "going to buy cigarettes" after realizing he knocked her up?? Her being into an abusive relationship?? Her son being an offspring of a rape scenario?? Whatever, Fumi's endless traumas are taking a toll on Souta's development.

Damn he took off too quickly, and Haru spoke too soon. The mother outright snapped.

I insta read boy's paradise but always need to mentally prepare myself for this manga.
