The worse way for a series to end is when the author can no longer continue it due to health issues. Im still not over Boku to Gal ga Fuufu ni Narumade ending due to the author dying.news: the author survived cancer and is now recovering from it but decided to cancel byakuda no hanamuko than keeping it on hiatus.
Regarding the Future of “Byakuda no Hanamuko”
To all readers,
Thank you always for reading. This is Yoshida.
I have recently been diagnosed with cancer by my doctor.
The surgery went smoothly, and I have been discharged and am currently recovering well.
I hadn’t made it public, but in the fall of 2023, I also underwent surgery for a different illness. At that time, I was in the middle of concentrating on drawing Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of Byakuda. I continued working while recuperating, but now, with this new diagnosis, considering both my physical strength and mental health, I discussed with my editor and decided that this work will not be put on hiatus, but rather concluded.
Because the story deals heavily with themes like accidents, illness, and death, and because I have fallen ill twice over the past two years while working on it, I judged that continuing to write while also undergoing ongoing treatment would be mentally too difficult. I am truly sorry to all readers. Please forgive me.
Regarding my other ongoing work, “Boku wa Onee-chan no Omocha”, since it is based on a plotted story and not fully drawn, I am positive about continuing its serialization, albeit at a slower pace. I hope you can wait a little while longer.
It is a lewd, comedic onee-shota manga where a gal-style older sister cross-dresses her introverted younger brother and decorates him cutely.
My completed series “Asako” Volumes 1–7 are also on sale. This is a nostalgic onee-shota suspense manga. I love onee-shota stories!

Yeah, I remember when that happened, it hit harder for me since that was the first manga I read where the author died during publication, and I thought it was pretty good tooThe worse way for a series to end is when the author can no longer continue it due to health issues. Wait is it just ending like this or are we going to get a compressed final chapter or two?news: the author survived cancer and is now recovering from it but decided to cancel byakuda no hanamuko than keeping it on hiatus.
This is why most US publishers require authors to keep a copy of their series notes in escrow incase of sudden illness/death.The worse way for a series to end is when the author can no longer continue it due to health issues. Im still not over Boku to Gal ga Fuufu ni Narumade ending due to the author dying.
Glad the author survived the cancer.news: the author survived cancer and is now recovering from it but decided to cancel byakuda no hanamuko than keeping it on hiatus.

Sakuya was quite mysterious in chapter 1. She knew she was going to die that day and maybe getting possessed by Byakuya was part of her plan with her smirk when Byakuya made her the proposal. And there is some way to get her body back. Maybe she felt regret of killing someone or somewhat blame herself for Tsubaki's situation (why he wasn't adopted by Sakuya's family?) as it was hinted that she might be reason for his curse. Maybe her plan involved getting Byakuya's powers for herself so she could protect Tsubaki her own way. Maybe she's not all that evil and just insanely obsessed with Tsubaki (to the point to hurting other that oppose her plans) as we know she was lusting for him but kept a good persona in front of others but that obsession was twisted in a non-healthy way. It's unfortunate that this series is canceled.
I did think that the plot to make Sakuya an evil stalker yandere felt weird. And apparently she had killed some people (maybe Tsubaki's parents).
But all these negative traits contradicted her behavior in ch 1, so it would need a really compelling reasons.
Well, we won't get anymore answers though...
