it's kinda funny when the victim was with his wife he's drawn too short. thought it didn't make sense for him to do another risky business when he already promised his wife to get "stable" job
Maybe because Shinra has some kind of qualification with his rings, he often gets "hired" as detective. Touma doesn't really have one, and his cases are usually with acquaintance.
The early chapters were full of historical and science knowledge that set the manga apart from other manga in the mystical genre. Now they have become more like American whodunnit where twisted people kill their loved ones.
