Rubs me up the wrong way seeing a prof talk that way to a student, like she's never even thought for a moment that things could be rough at home- that his studies arent actually being neglected but he's stretched so thin he's barely holding together.

The type of poverty him and his uncle went through is pretty commonly associated with long term effects too... :c
