I must've missed something, what does the route being "manned" entail? Do they want her to pilot the rest itself, despite the fact she's currently running on a deficit of energy and supposedly is going on a death run?
The situation is interesting, but the lady getting herself into this situation is a little annoying. I know it's running on atmosphere and vibes, but I can't but dislike our local space nudist.
...And while I'm ranting this character is an export of the MC in the author's other works? The one also with a nudist and cat?
Manned route means that a conscious human "battleship pilot" is required by law, though unnecessary. The ship flies itself, so Momo is employed only to satisfy the legal requirement.
The company that owns the
Bleu Château does not care about the lives of such crewmembers, and so provides the ship with no more power that the route requires at the absolute minimum. If excess power is consumed for any reason (as it was in deflecting chapter 6's "obstacle"), then life support will be turned off early, killing Momo before she arrives at the delivery destination.
Momo games this system by forcing the
Bleu Château to operate even more efficiently than the company designed it to, leaving her with excess power for book replication and other indulgences.
Why don't you like her,
@Lucky ? I think she's a pretty great character, both appealing and relatable.
