Doesn't she basically only ever end up using it after someone completely pisses her off? Less a technique, more a temper tantrum that just so happens to have a name, so backfiring is completely reasonable.
@Landale I guess your not entirely wrong, but I thought of it more as entering a Berserk Mode. Also it's better explained in Arachnid, this is a technique that's supposed to be use when fighting a large group of people in a more open space.
