Basophils aren't B-cells. They don't make antibodies. They get activated by antibodies which make them secrete immune signaling molecules to do things like upregulate inflammation or downregulate clotting.

At first I read that as "downregulate clothing", and I was thinking: "Cats don't wear clothes!"
