......To let Julian and the Reader's group know about the Goddess of Night, the rift between the Witches and the Supreme Lord/Elstri and to show off how Altus is his own person rather than just a resurrected Arkos (even if he has a small piece of Arkos left inside as a power up) so that we won't be surprised when they eventually use the Muscle Mommy's hair to create a doll of her that might wind up influenced by the soul remnant inside her.
They literally established that both groups were fucking around before hand and it was only a matter of waiting until they showed up in the middle of the fight
Do you call every little bit of convenient timing "asspulls"?
Yes I do. It has been years since Arkos was killed, the helmet guy and the witches just now showed up? Exactly when needed? They didn't try to talk to Julian beforehand or anything like that? How did they find them? They were hidden in the old aqueduct for a long time now, Elstri's group just now found them.
The main problem isn't even that, the main problem is that it's just awkward.
Two times during the same fight they were rescued by a secondary group only so that we can establish things.
This second rescue only exists so that we can establish how the mirror guy works and that there are two more people helping Julian.
We could've done that somewhere else, after this whole fight have been closed. It's just shoving too many things in the same
fight in the same way.
Like I said, the Witches were enough, they could've fought Altus, lost because of the power-up, the power-up would've ended and Elstri would be forced to retreat, Julian and Co. would've ran away.
Then we could have introduced the mirror guy and the new allies in a more organic way.
