It was made clear in the Chainsaw church arc that even the fake versions of Chainsaw man end up making the real Chainsaw devil more feared. That was part of "Fami's" (now Death's) plot to turn Yoru and Denji into serious threats (by causing a war with fake chainsaw men).

The fake chainsaws aren't actually related to the Chainsaw devil, they're contracted to the Fire devil, and their power is dependent on Fire. This Fake chainsaw man's power and autonomy is apparently the result of his exceptional willpower (compared to most Fire devil minions, who just turn into mindless monsters).

Barem explains this in ch 146.
This guy has been around since the beginning of Act 2, when he killed Yuko, whereas the Fire zombies transformed as part of a mass ceremony much later. So he can't be one of them. I do agree he came about because of a contract with Fire, but he may well be Fire itself.

It's unlikely that he's Fire because
-Fire is said to be one of "Fami's" (Death's) pawns by Barem
-This Fakesaw Man is clearly guided by Fire devil (which he believes to be Justice devil) during his fight with Famine devil, even questioning if this was really the right target to go after

It shouldn't be forgotten that Yuko and the class president who killed Asa, were also contracted to Fire devil, so it has been making moves since the beginning, not just during the Chainsaw church arc. Fakesaw man could've been one of its first converts, explaining why it killed off Yuko.

Now it's possible there are multiple Fakesaw men. This one in particular seems to have been set up by Death and Fire devil to attack Famine, and then be turned into one of Death's pawns.

I get that, my point was simply that Fakesawman wasn't one of the zombies the Church mass-converted all at once, if he's contracted to Fire it happened earlier. What I found weird was that he called CSM the hero of hell, which is something only a devil would care about. Even if Fire told the contracted human about that, why would they care? For humans, Denji was painted as the hero of humanity fighting against devils, that perspective I could get a human would take. But this guy is effectively larping as Black CSM, the way Beam described him and only devils know him from that time- why would a human turn into that with Fire's powers? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I'm leaving some place for doubt as to whether Fakesawman is a human.

I just don't see why there would be more than one or what indication there is of that. I mean, it's possible, but the simplest solution for now is that this is the same guy that killed Yuko and held off Falling. We'll see soon enough I guess.

I know the intention was to strengthen chainsawman using the Fire Devil impostors, but did that actually work? Denji didn't seem particularly stronger than before when fighting the Aging Devil, although admittedly Denji hasn't participated in much direct action since the war started.

I guess I could see the church causing people to fear chainsawman specifically, not necessarily chainsaws (or fire or anything else). So the twist would be that Fakesawman is actually the Chainsawman Devil, who at this point would be theoretically more powerful than the original CSM in terms of raw fear

what even is the story anymore
At this point I am arguing with myself If I should take a page from the Pacific Rim fanbase's book

If anything, Chainsaw Man feels weaker than when he fought Makima and her goons at the end of part 1

It seemed to work more for Yoru since they went from no wars to having atleast one war going on. "Fami's" (Death's) scheme mostly negated the effect of Chainsaw man getting too popular.

Denji did seem quite strong in the short confrontation this chapter though. It's a rare day in his life that he actually avoids taking any damage.

and the name of the food is "choco pan" , not "bread bun" .
