Some chapters ago I speculated that CSM part 2 is just money farming. I used the exemple of Rambo, Rambo 1 had something to say while Rambo 2 and 3 are parodies of the original made with the sole intention generating revenue.
The way Part 2 is mostly filler is yet another argument to my theory that CSM part 2 is just revenue farming.

I mean profiting at the cost of quality and vision.
And thank GOD we have this shit for free, because some people are paying for purposely badly paced filler.
It is more egregious because you can compare Part 1 and 2, you can feel the decline in both story and art in your bones.
People don't care because a girl giving Denji attention is the manga equivalent of having Subway Surfers gameplay in your YT shorts.

But yeah, nothing wrong with turning your creative endeavors into slop so that you can slowly milk readers for profit.

I share the sentiments that the Part 2 of the series feels incredibly drawn out. I know Fujimotor got something in mind but he seems to take the very long route to get there. Is it because of his editors? Who knows.
Every chapter feels more like part of a 'scene' rather than the whole scene itself. It's not even a quarter of an act.
If the author no longer wishes to draw after this, I hope he goes into writing novels because I'm still curious about what else he can cook.

I swear, barely anyone in this thread seems to have actually read Part 1 week-to-week, or else they'd remember that CSM's chapters are almost always over too soon. I'd agree that the tempo is a bit slower in Part 2, but IMO it's no worse than the slowest bits of Part 1. The action in the final showdown with Makima always felt tragically cut short every week, and I remember the Reze arc feeling like an eternity in situ.

On the other hand, I've read Berserk and JoJo chapter-by-chapter for almost a decade now, so maybe I've built up a strong tolerance

As someone who had read all of it this is kinda how I feel.

I think a major problem is burnout from fujimoto where the story and the art suffers. The amount of pages isn't great either. I remember hearing that fujimoto doesnt want to draw anymore and I would be fine with that at this point. Wish he would take a month to look for a new artist and come back.

I do recommend all of part one though. That is gas. But if anyone wants to drop out until it is finished or all together for part 2 I would not blame them. It is slow and the chapters cover very little. If the spark isn't gone for this series then it is fading.

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much, he's always loved a good change of pace. Makima was literally chilling on a beach in a nothingburger chapter and then 2 chapters later Aki and Angel were dead and enslaved and helped her kill Gun devil.
