It's mocking the American claim to the moon. American's don't own the moon. No more than the Russians "own" space because they sent the first human into it. American's just own the flag they placed on the moon.

Yoru's made weapons out of two things. One is the flag itself, which has been turned into a spear. The second is the very belief Americans hold about owning the moon. That belief is what planted the flag on the moon. And now Yoru is trying to lay "claim" to Denji.

Basically, the flag is propelled by sheer American spirit and it thinks Denji is the moon.

What exactly are you confused by? Yoru can turn things she perceives as her own into weapons. She feels she owns America and thus their claim to the moon (no such claim exists but nevermind), so she turned that into a homing system, which is a part of a weapon. It might tie in with the idea that the moon is an all-seeing eye in the sky (thus the homing part), but beyond that it's just standard fare devil power reality-bending stuff.

You can always count on Fujimotor to not go with the boring moon sword option.

I thought he had eaten the flag of the US erasing the idea of the US as a country thus eliminating Yoru's deal with the US that covers all her damage with their citizens. At least Denji put an end to feet guys

Eating the flag wouldnt erase the US. He has to eat the devil associated with the concept to erase it.
Also, Yoru's deal with the US isn't benefiting or hindering her right now. Her deal was for Americans to die in her place every time she died. But Death has been eaten, no one can die right now. So her deal isn't doing anything.

Eating the US devil (if that's a thing, again the flag wouldnt do this) would prevent her from turning states into weapons though, so there is that.
