so this is why makima wanted the big lebowski to cease to exist.

pretending to have world building while it was actually just a silly story about a boy and his dog. the boy made the dog happy so the dog ate it's own existence to make the boy happy too

denji finally getting what he wanted, only for pochita saying it's better we don't get closure. otherwise we won't be able to keep dreaming

tycsm fujimoto is a god at filtering

Feels like a happy end you'd get in a vn that'd you go back to your previous save to make sure that there's a true ending.

If fine with the ending if fujimoto couldn't take it anymore. It's disappointing but I can understand when it becomes to much for an author

The ending's still kinda weird though. Was pochita the chainsaw devil or the theorized birth devil. Because chainsaws still exist but there's still birth in this world. But on top of all that pochita is still denji's heart. The entire ending feels like a dream that we'll be snapped out of at any moment. There was so much stuff left to do and see.

Genuinely looking forward to the youtube videos explaining how the ending is actually genius and Fuji's just a mis-understood maverick who flew too close to the sun.

wouldnt Asa die or get groomed by her teacher in this timeline? cause Yoru wouldnt have a reason to look for a body or leave hell to find Chainsaw Man
I mean, in this timeline she hasn't killed the devil chicken (which got her ostracized by her class for doing so), so who knows what would happen to her from here.
Now that you two mention it, I think we're supposed to understand Denji grabbing Asa as Denji preventing Asa from falling on and killing Bucky, which saves her as it prevents her from being ostracized, killed by a Fire Devil contractee, and being taken over by the War Devil.

This ending, just like Tokyo Revengers... fucking sucks LMAO. And yeah just like Revengers only the first half mattered. Honestly this is why Fujimoto should just stick with oneshots since every serialized work that he's published has an awful ending usually preceded by a spiralling plot.

To anyone who review bombed my criticisms on Part 2's plot going down the drain a couple months ago is probaby feeling stupid asf right now lol. I can't wait till a week later when some dickheads on YT upload a 3 hour long video essay trying to convince their audience that this was some supposed "peak" ending. If you want to read an actual good manga I would recommend Dungeon Meshi because at least that series had a planned story from start to finish.

Fujimotor has ALWAYS been a oneshot merchant. Every single story he writes has a great initial premise and that's what he's good at. But keeping a consistent story through to the end has never been his strength. Even Fire Punch suffered from this.

It does feel nice to be right about this. I'm in a similar boat as you in that regard. I've been meaning to start dungeon meshi for a minute now!

The new Universe at the end of stone ocean was not just one where Pucci never existed, but also one where the Joestars are free from their fated role of fighting evil, that’s why Jolyne’s name was Irene. As far as we know it’s an entirely normal world, not just one without pucci who was erased because he existed outside of fate. He stopped the acceleration of time at the beginning of stone ocean because he knew emporio would be there so he could kill him. He however accidentally changed fate to allow emporio to kill him instead before he would get to the point in time in the new universe where he enacts the heaven plan thus deleting the restarted stone ocean universe where everyone knew their fate and anyone who died in the previous universe was replaced with a substitute. For some reason this resulted in the creation of a new unique universe where For some reason the characters who died came back, but had different lives.
Parts 1~5 happened the same way, Pucci didn't reset or create a new universe because he died before MiH's effect was completed. Because he died in a still-being-born universe his soul was left behind and he effectively never existed.

Denji did not get his friends back, these are not the same people he grew to know.

These are just bizarro world versions of them.
Yes and no. By that logic this Denji too is a "bizarro world", he never met Pochita and his life wasn't changed by him.

This is just an alternate reality where Pochita never existed.
Control devil never became Makima, as that version represented her obsession with Pochita. It seems her Nayuta version is closer to her real self, luckily for humanity's sake as she is protective of human society against other devils but way less of a ruthless tyrant.
Power wasn't defeated by Makima and forced to posess a corpse becoming a fiend, so here she is on her full devil form and able to contract Denji but largely the same individual.
Aki isn't here, probably because there's no Makima to obsess over. Maybe he finally got convinced by Himeno to become private, and are living a happy life in the countryside as a couple.
No Reze too, she must be still in Russia. No Pochita heart to steal.
Asa just living her life, no Yoru here because she was never defeated by Pochita. And Denji prevented her unlucky fall, so maybe she finally gets integrated with the class?
Probably a much safer world as well, as Pochita isn't constantly killing powerful devils in hell and sending them to our world. Also nukes do exist, so nuclear deterrence is a thing and our shaky kind of world order exists too

Manga publishers need to force duos. Author and artist need to be different people. Not only does it prevent burnout from the insane schedule, it also improves story telling. Because most mangaka are artists, not authors. And it shows.
A separate writer and artist hasn't kept Frieren from being on hiatus multiple times, with the current one being indefinite.

It wasn't as bad as I feared from the sudden announcement of the ending, but it was still definitely a rushed ending. Don't know what went on with Fujimoto (writer's block, burnout or whatever else), but the disappointing part for me is that contrary to the doomers' opinion I did feel like the story could have been wrapped up well if Fujimoto took a bit more time with it. Sadly, the doomers won the day though.

(is it to delusional to hope he pulls a reverse April's Fool joke next week and reveals it's not over after all?)
