In my opinion I don’t think he’s being a simp , Denji genuinely doesn’t know what love really feels like and since he’s only been exposed to Makima’s way of showing a twisted way of care (especially since she hasn’t tried to kill him yet in this volume ) he gives her all his love. Makima like she did with everyone else’s desires will take full advantage of this , like she has been all along
