The anime didn't have enough episodes. If it did, it would have been top-class.

huh what? something is amiss. There must be a reason why she (the mother) didn't ask about his bro, cuz for all i know Maedomori only erased the siblings memories

From what i remember reading some year ago, the author planed the story for 24 episode but only got 12 so it mean that we should get more "original" bit of story in the manga.

Too bad that the extra story is only this chapter and one more SoL chapter before everything reach the climax

Damn that's messed up. His mother was raped, ending up having a child, then divorced, and left her kids.

But i feel like this now complicates their relationship unless the manga adds more. So, guardian or whoever parent, were their memories altered too? Was the mom's memory altered too? The anime never touched on their famiial relations. Now that they added those stuff, there's no way they could have gone by for years without anyone question the brother's disappearance unless he also got their's altered. It seemed like they were a loving family. Is this part really just going to end like that?

On a serious note, rape really ruins people's lives so goddamn I wish the law can be further enforced.

Why couldn't she abort the child?

Even though the child is innocent, it's something that will remember moment of traumatic experience.

Father divorcing mother because she couldn't abort the child? Jesus tapdancing Christ, your wife was raped, due some unknown reasons even, it's not reasonable.

Yuu and Ayumi were under care of their uncle but not their father after the divorce, why they weren't taken cared by the father, why couldn't mother take custody?

This is just weird an unimaginable.

I suppose it has to do with the fact that as a father, you wouldn’t want your wife to have another person’s child. I can see this realistically as the mother having to choose either the husband or the child. I wouldn’t want a child I’d scorn at and remember about either. But damn well I’d rather be my reason for separation be because of murdering the rapist and getting jailed. I don’t understand why the manga went differently. Kind of ruining what we thought we know of this work.

At this point it's still really unreasonable, it wasn't obviously her choice and after that a person needs a whole lot of support.

Think it's still terribly written here, we know all siblings went to testing facility, were they kidnapped or father gave them away, it wasn't explained thoroughly.

Such things can be nuanced in real life, but it definitely makes no sense in this story. Perhaps I don’t remember, but they can time leap, have done so, have powers, done it for the siblings and friends, and yet nothing to do about their families. It’s like a simple cop out to explain why they don’t have parents with them. Kinda ruining the story when it’s better off unexplained than whatever this bs is.

Butterfly Effect, that single time jump to save his sister was just tiny bit that didn't effect much of the world as they were in enclosed school but them having an actual healthy family would have unforseen circumstances, one of which is he would never join the school he is currently in and never met Nao nor his brother being captured then forming an organisation to protect power users that gained abilities through Charlotte comet.

It would be better if his mom had to give birth because it would kill her, because it's doubtful she didn't check within 24 weeks (even if she didn't tell her husband, it's something ine should do) if she wasn't pregnant, even then it's perfectly legal to do so.
Still, divorcing because your wife was pregnant and due some unknown circumstances want to keep the baby is just fucked up.

Either way, they have the powers to actually fix it. Considering the amount of time leaps done yet nothing shown about the family, could imply that there’s always been a fall out. Just like how they’ve always been on the run from such organisations. Meaning they should have had always known that something will happen to split their parents.

This additional plot isn’t well written because it leaves you wondering more on, “what else,” and “why.”

I wouldn’t blame the father. Mainly, rape is the problem here.

Some people still support their former partner in a way, even after splitting. Perhaps, as a husband, he can’t accept having to raise another child from someone else. Yet, the wife wants to keep the child, else she would have put it up for adoption. It is honestly unfair to the husband as well. He has no blood ties to this child, and it’s a reminder of rape, yet he has to help raise it if he stays with his wife. Additionally, some women would scorn the child though, especially if she had no choice but to carry it to term.

The optimistic way for the split is that, he supports his wife’s decision and perhaps supports her in other ways, but at the cost that he won’t be there to help raise it.

I’m being optimistic, since it was kind of vague, so that this story won’t feel any further ruined.
I still hate this stupid addition to the story. Really ruining it by adding an unnecessary sensitive situation.
