1) A reasonable authority figure will show up to administer punishment;
2) A bigger opposer, with an high rank, to the addition of a man will appear to punish/reprimand the announcer for her failure;
3) The thing will just remain a suspicion, with no actual development, save for a bit of foreshadowing for a future arc.
