I know that we probably aren't supposed to think too much about the complexity of these kinds of stories, but I'm wondering a few things:
Firstly, this is apparently the standard exam that All would-be heroes must pass before being acknowledged as an official Guardian hero. Every woman in the colosseum has passed this exam then. It was stated that there are 10 units of Guardian heroes, and Unit 6 is one of them; however, Unit 6 has what..4 members? There are easily a coupla thousand of women in the colosseum at least, so just how many members do the other 9 Guardian units possess?
Second, the ritual that the 'Goddess' explains in the beginning appears to be one of ancient tradition, passed down from each successive Legendary male hero, but none of the members of Unit 6, including its leader, seem to know anything about it. In fact, everyone in the crowd at the trial looked equally at a loss in witnessing the Legendary hero's abilities. Isn't that odd?
Thirdly...You know what? I'm just not going to worry about details anymore and just enjoy the artwork.
