Its simple. He'll justify his existence as a victor even in death. That his life and those he took were not in vain but in a righteous cause against heresy. If the book is printed that will mean his life was naught but killing in the name of ignorance.

Ironically he ofc doesn't know his own daughter's name emblazons the very deed he's trying to burn and would immortalize her and give meaning to her actions in a way that Novak's could never.
