He might not have been the best father, but he still cared for his kids. He didn’t abandoned them when the wife left and kept in touch with the eldest’s son for over 10 years. Now he’s retiring to help Tora with his child. He would’ve done it sooner had it not been for his debt. If anything, it’s sad that his own son doesn’t know him enough to regard him as a good parental figure. Man I just love this manga.
