Let's compare it to Ruri Dragon, would it be good end if Ruri somehow "lost" her dragon heritage at last chapter? It's better for character to embrace their differences, especially if it isn't really all that cumbersome, just a funny gimmick. And with horny for giantesses mad scientists and rich millionaire ojou-sama with their own giant mecha all around the place, it's really weird when people are looking with such sad outlook at this ending.Like we all guessed, it was way too late in the story for the author to do a 180 and finish the manga without the giant girl gimmick at the last second. But honestly, thats kinda frustrating.
She was only big for a year. A single chaotic year in her life just gave her a "limp" for the rest of it. Sure she had fun, she was able to do many good deeds for the people of her city, but that speaks more of character than her 'giant' powers. If she was back to normal size, her life would only have improved. I doubt the author cares about their life beyond this point as much as we do.
Like all the other manga with a gimmick like this, Yume and Chieri will find their happiness despite her condition. And that's how I'll leave this story. Somehow they are happy, the end.
If this manga was in any way realistic, Chieri would have died in first chapter since her muscles and organ couldn't support her body, due to the laws of physics. But that wouldn't be fun, what is fun is having giant gyaru as main character of manga.
