I'm pretty sure the delinquent brother was fully thinking he was helping our ML out in his own dumbass way.
And FL's Dad being such a paper tiger felt pretty on-brand as well, all told.
I don't think the family's fully getting in their way, especially as our Main Pair spoke up pretty much immediately where appropriate and shut down any shenaniganry or misunderstanding.

Honestly for how shy they both are at times, this is some wild progression in their relationship considering how it started.

Meek? They don't seem meek at all. They have been quite bold from the beginning, in all of their interactions, aside from the whole not talking at school. But even that did have some basis because the big bro is a known delinquent and Shirou himself actually has bleached hair as well, so people who know his big brother's infamy would automatically think he's openly the same. So, there indeed is an inherent risk Ayaka would face hardships if she gets connected to a delinquent.
