Awww the karuta club peeps' tears for Chihaya 😌
Poor Arata, most people around him really don't see past "the eternal meijin Wataya's grandson", he has so much pressure, and noone helped him realize there was something weird with the way he play - aka playing his granddad's way rather than his own, playing as his life was just the continuation of his grandfather - except Suou actually.

I'm repeating myself but, I really still think the best situation would be that Shinobu and Suou win, and it ends with Chihaya and Arata still wanting to challenge them, even more fired to win next time rather than brocken (like everyone says about the current queen and meijin's adversaries), and the ending implying that yes they will. For the naysayers to shut up, and Shinobu and Suou to have more reasons to keep playing, and never be lonely anymore.
But also for Chihaya and Arata to win something out of it, like the recognition for female players and serious talks of a professional karuta federation for the heroine, and Arata finally finding his own style showing more potential to be an even scarier monster than his grandfather haha. Contrary to the other two, they don't need to win as long as it ends in a very close match and in a positive way for their future imo. Also they need to hug man. They all need a hug, I'm gonna need a hug when this ends 〒▽〒

Dammit y'all, see you next month. I can't bear with this suspense any longer. ;M;
I don't know why I get this feeling that Shinobu will comeback stronger, more readily and confront Chihaya aggresively. I mean, like everyone said, your-effort-pays-off ideal ending is not my option either. It just...tough.

I also hope for the best, Arata. He really need someone to support him. Or will it be his friend? That preview the girl sitting on the train on her way to go to Arata's match? I think Chihaya should a find her way to give him some couraging words too.

The club's reaction to her win if that doesn't bring happy tears to your face i don't know what will for long time readers. He dad realizing and tearing shows what that win meant to others on top of Chihaya. Arata buckling to pressure cause of the legacy others hold him too sucks to see, but looks like support is on the way.

As a Taichi sympathizer, this feels like the end of the manga to me. What a ride it’s been - almost 10 years of reading the manga, after watching the anime.

Still haven’t fully processed that Chihaya is a queen now.

EDIT: Leaving this up, but for some reason I thought the games were now a best of 3 (change from last year) and that the score was 1-1

Interesting. Arata's friend seems to be coming to see the match in person. I kinda get the feeling she will be the one to cheer up Arata instead of Chihaya.

I'm an odd one but I want Chihaya to win (we've watched her work at this for years dammit) and for Arata to lose. Honestly Arata feels like he never actually matured or grew up from when we first met him, he's spent his life living his grandpa's legacy and I think it'll be a more important development for him to finally choose to learn his own style. Also let's be real even if he loses he'll still become Meijin bc Sou plans to quit and only held off for Arata. So his match actually has no stakes at all, unlike Chihaya.
