This chapter might be the first time, my thoughts lined up with the characters. I've been trying to figure out if the "hero" is welded to his suit of armor, as he never takes it off, even on "off" days.

I think that since he is being called the Hero he must have a contract with the government and if that is true he must always be seen as the Hero and never be recognized without his armor. This is similar to the Disney characters at Disney World you will never see one of them with half their uniform on or be able to recognize them out of uniform.
