Thank you for finishing this up. Really appreciate it. Thank you, love you 😽
I just jumped right to end, maybe someday I'll read through from start again. It's just... a struggle with the author resetting the quo, the whole manga is😔

With the final chapter finally translated this feels like the end of an era. Chiko and Aya were both adorable and fun characters through out the entire story (Though I slightly prefer Aya and I am surprised how much more I am loving her on a re-read of the first couple of chapters.). I'll definitely give the entire series a full re-read now that it's finished. A cute and funny read even if it got forgotten with all the other series that come out every year. It really feels bittersweet finally seeing the ending even if nothing is really "bitter" about the series.

Yeah but that was pretty much expected for the ending.
The reactions here are also pretty mild, so it's not like people are spilling their guts in hate.

It was a very "fine" story with every aspect being just "fine".
This Manga feels very generic 90s/2000s so the ending is really fitting actually.
Yeah, the 2014s feels really strong here

Series that started, ran or ended in 2014? :meguusmug:

Didn't a loooot of long running series end in the 2010s?(just checked google, Naruto actually ended 2014, hah what a coincidence)

Exactly, in around 2014 I was about 18 and I had my seriously bored my mind moment of japanese manga all-together for about 5 years, of which I started reading mostly korean webtoon before it became too cool for my never-ending chuuni tastes.
2014 was mostly the time I had enough of manga being ecchi school life and One Piece clones manga.

I'm glad manga have somewhat improved in quality now, though I guess as an adult I can't really relate to school life that much now.

The ending of this manga ? That's completely un-climatic, just as expected of a slice of life manga like this from that time, and I'm glad this disapeared out of my mind when it got droped by the initial translation team. The often just had for themselves the values of the plotline making the various life of a japanese student more gag-y, with various level of success. Over the 10 slice of life I followed back then, only 2 or 3 turned interesting past the initial setting.

If whoever reads this wants to rince-off the bad taste in their mouth right now, I recomand to read Yandere Kanojo or catching up with Watamote.

No, please, Watamote NO!
Why not, the manga keeps on the good stuff even today and only the first third is filled with the character suffering, not unlike this Chikotan manga.
But unlike Chiko-tan characters, their characterization actually march on, and the true slice of life starting with chapter ~100 actually makes much more sense. I agree this lacks a bit on the male characters, but Tomoko is kind of a guy with a vagina at times.

Heck, one would argue Tomoko is a non-fictional, well written version of Chikotan. Clumsy and socialy innapt, but trying to improve over time to the point this finally sort of succeed. And hides the secret that her brain is more dark lord male than her unkept doll body.

Never liked that kind of manga.

Thank you for translating this, it was good.
The harem/not choosing ending is a bit cheesy, but probably better than giving a hard answer and leaving one of the girls on a sad note (Neko obviously, since she's the childhood friend rather than the main character).
