Oh wait, they all know/believe that Terra-chan is the Earth? I expected them to brush of the rising temps as a freak coincidence.
Or maybe they only rushed her to the pond because she was suffering and still wrote off the fluctuating temps. Hmm...

Well, that was a missed opportunity to do good by wiping out the human race.
Science nerdery: compared to the diameter of the Earth (12800 km) even the highest mountains like Everest (9 km) or deepest depths of the oceans (11 km) are nothing. Flatter than a billiard ball, except... due to spin Earth does have a noticeable bulge at the equator. So not a perfect sphere, a slightly squashed one.
